Westborough High School

Brief: To provide additional teaching accommodation block comprising of a two storey modular building, housing 4 classrooms and male, female toilets, and an access toilet.
We provided the school with a recycled two storey (6 bays on 6) second-hand building manufactured by Adroit, fitted out to the client's requirements. The building was completely refurbished using new energy efficient lighting designs and energy saving materials where ever possible. The classrooms benefitted from smart board technology and IT services linked back to the main school
The client brief also was also to include a new staff car park which was constructed using SUDS (sustainable underground drainage system). Gridforce offers a unique paver system, made from recyclable materials which provides permeable ground reinforcement solutions which does away with the need for tarmac. We opted for the Gridforce system and adapted their specification of built up clean stone and rootzone mix- recycling the existing top soil on site.
The project was completed with the use of energy efficient LED street lighting, taking into consideration the local residents and light pollution.
